IN CENSUS 2020
In the wake of the COVID-19 Pandemic the Massachusetts Census Equity Fund is following national news about the Census, looking for resources to provide our grantees with support and sharing ideas for continued community education and engagement to ensure the most accurate Census count in Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Census Equity Fund is a statewide funding initiative working to increase participation in the 2020 Census, specifically in communities that are at risk of being undercounted. We provide grants for grassroots organizations working toward creating an accurate and fair count, as well as a learning community for partners.
The Census is a national count used to determine critical decisions, like political representation and what public and private resources go to communities. When a community is undercounted by the Census, it results in political inequality and less funding for those communities. The communities who are historically undercounted are often communities who experience barriers to accessing other resources.

ABOUT THE FUND
Goals of the Census Equity Fund:
We have created a Learning Community to connect, convene and provide resources to partners on the importance of the Census and promote active involvement to ensure a fair and complete count.
We have launched a Grant Program targeting support for grassroots organizations coordinating education and outreach initiatives in undercounted communities across the Commonwealth.
